Surely make replacement of all blocks on one axis of the car, even if the limit of wear were reached by one block. If blocks are repeatedly established, before removal they need to be marked.

During the work of brake shoes brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy is formed. Therefore when cleaning a support do not use compressed air and do not inhale dust.

1. Lift back part of the car and record on supports. Remove the corresponding back wheel.
2. Release the emergency brake.
3. Remove the brake drum.
4. If the brake drum is not removed from a nave, check that the parking brake is completely released.
5. If the brake drum still is not removed from a nave, it is necessary to take away from it brake shoes. It can be executed after removal of a stopper from a brake board.
6. Using a narrow screw-driver through an opening in a brake board, move the lever from a cogwheel of an adjusting level and the second screw-driver, rotating a cogwheel, take away brake shoes from the brake drum.
7. Using special liquid, clear back brake knot.
8. Using flat-nose pliers, remove a plate of a spring of fixing of a brake shoe, pressing a plate and turning on 90 °.
9. Remove a spring and take a fixing pin.
10. Remove the lower returnable spring from brake shoes.
11. Remove forward and back brake shoes and an adjusting level.
12. Disconnect a cable of the emergency brake from the lever on a back brake shoe.
13. Do not remove at the same time brake shoes of the left and right back wheel not to mix a detail of brake shoes.
14. Sort and clear an adjusting level.
15. Check a condition of returnable springs and if necessary replace them.
16. Check a condition of the working brake cylinder and if necessary replace it.
17. Apply a thin film of high-temperature greasing on places of contact of brake shoes and a brake board.
18. Establish an adjusting level in grooves of brake shoes and establish the top returnable spring.
19. Establish brake shoes on a brake board. Thus the top ends of brake shoes have to be correctly installed in the piston of the working brake cylinder.
20. Establish the lower returnable spring of brake shoes.
21. For fixing of blocks pass a pin through a brake shoe, establish a spring and fix a spring a plate, pressing a plate and turning it on 90 °.
22. Install the brake drum.
23. Adjust a gap between brake shoes and the brake drum for what wrap a wheel of an adjusting level against the stop, and then slightly release it back.
24. Thus the brake drum has to be rotated freely. If the brake drum still is kept by brake shoes, still a little bit unscrew a wheel of an adjusting level back.
25. Make replacement of brake shoes on the second back wheel.
