GENERAL INFORMATION
Prevention

Ethylated gasoline does harm to the catalyst and elements of electric equipment from what they lose working capacity. Thanks to that the opening of a bulk mouth of a fuel tank of cars with the catalyst becomes narrower, input of the gun of a fuel-dispensing column with ethylated gasoline is prevented.

Non-compliance with the instructions given below can lead to damage of the catalyst or car.

Cars with l engines 1,8, 2,0 and 2,2

  

Cars with engines of 2,5 l

 
At interruptions in ignition or in operation of the engine after its start-up in a cold state, at obvious deceleration of power of the engine or at other violations in work indicating malfunction in system of ignition it is necessary to address immediately in an authorized workshop of Subaru firm. If necessary quickly to continue the movement at a small speed and with a small frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine.

At hit in the catalyst of not burned down fuel there can be an overheat and damage of the catalyst.

Catalytic converter is the device which demands in use the car of attention and care.

Apply only unleaded gasoline.

It is forbidden to apply any additives to engine oil is can lead to serious damage and failure of the catalyst.

Do not force turns of a cranked shaft of the engine.

Do not increase engine turns just before ignition switching off.

Avoid the parking on flammable garbage (dry leaves or a grass) since the fulfilled gases of the engine have high temperature.

Avoid frequent consecutive start-up of the cold engine.

Avoid too long inclusion of a starter during start-up (during start-up there is a fuel injection).

Avoid a fuel reserve expenditure in a tank till the end (uneven supply of fuel leads to an overheat).

Avoid start-up of the engine by pushing or towage (not burned down fuel can get to the catalyst): it is necessary to use a wire for connection of a starter to the auxiliary battery.

Maintenance

All works on servicing have to be carried out in an authorized workshop of firm Subaru according to the frequency ordered by firm. Then you can be sure that all elements of electric equipment, system of injection and ignition work optimum that low indicators of emission of harmful substances are maintained and the durability of catalytic system is provided.
